“If hunger comes, can epidemics be far behind”. As a matter of fact, these two are twins, and their hold on any population is nothing short of devastation and degeneration. Let me have discussion on it.
Hunger is the most despicable of human conditions, and it is able to take people to their elements leaving no room for any kind of compunction. The hungry would go to any extent keep the wolf at bay at any cost. Barring the direct it has one the hungry, hunger is a double-sword capable of lynching people from all sides. For example, a hungry person is not only prone to degeneration elements of life, rather he or she is also vulnerable to deadly disease conditions. Hunger stifles people and makes them fragile with poor immune. When immune is weak, what follows is the onslaught of viruses, killers to be precise.
Therefore, it is very right to say that hunger gives birth to epidemics. If we examine history, even the latest developments in the African geographies, we may be able to see that wherever there had been hunger, where there had been deadly killers too. For example, Ebola has been killing people in Liberia for quite some time, and we all know that Liberia has been running short of food and great many families go to bed hungry. Actually, hunger was giving a strong foothold to Ebola. Hunger kills in two ways.
Hunger, in short, is so close to epidemics. Naturally, it can re-generate many other social evils that man has been able to eradicate spending ages. Epidemics are begotten by hunger. It is right to say, in many more ways than one, that epidemics and hunger share the same womb.
