Intelligent machines such as robots are widely applied to take the place of human beings

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages.

Artificial intelligence has a massive role in the development of intelligent machines called robots. These artificial intelligence-created robots are widely used for different aspects such as, space exploration, ocean research, and modern assembly lines. Robots are bringing the benefits to society undoubtedly. However they are not as multifaceted.

The advantages of robots are numerous (or innumerable). They can save a lot of labour. For example, an assembly line’s robots reduce the manual labour. So we can save great human efforts. Robots are widely used in developed countries. In Japan, one out of ten thousand workers are robots and are very popular, which not only improves the working efficiency but also enhances accuracy. The efforts of robots are highly sparkling in auto-mobile industries and electronic production lines. 

Another merit of robots is that they can work at any environment, even in dangerous or hazardous conditions like fighting fire, defusing bombs, rescuing people from disasters and the like. Besides, this roberts can replace humans. For example, humans are concentrating on space research, where there are a lot of hidden dangers that are unpredictable and robots can work at any such situations. Another upside of robots is working in hospital environment where they can do operation on patients. They do not feel tired and disoriented as they are programmed. So they are capable of working round the clock. 

Disadvantages of robots are unquestionable. Firstly, human beings designed all intelligent machines and robots and what they are doing is only follow the instructions. If there is any problem within the electronic circuit or programs, they can't work effectively. Moreover, whenever complicated situations arrive they cannot work creatively. These are machines and they have no emotional intelligence, presence of mind and reasoning skills. Besides all these, if robots are let lose, they may wreck havoc and man may go under his mercy. They are dangerous too.

In short, robots are brilliant on their jobs even in a difficult environment whereas they are impossible to handle problems in dramatic times without any instruction. Man need to know than machines need to be under man’s control.
