Since change is natural and development is but change, the possibility for change in cultural values too is possible in today’s fast paced world. It is true to a great extent that, irrespective of place and time, development changes values.
To begin with, change is quiet human and it is humans’ inherent urge to change from what is today that has made them stand where they are standing now. Obviously, a change is not possible without touching the things around whether it is physical or cultural or even spiritual.
Let me cite an example to prove my point. In the past people attached a lot of sentiments with personal and family visits. People used to complain of if the frequency is far beyond their expectations. But now, thanks to development is communication and fast paced life, people are happy the way they are. No matter they meet face to face or visit each other’s family. It did have some cultural value, we cannot help it though.
However, there a few cultural values that resist change even if the force of development is much stronger. For example, many people are not ready to compromise on their personal values like truthfulness, helping mentality, family characteristics. But their number is negligibly small. Barring such a small lot, everything is influenced by development. Eroding social values is a bit disturbing though.
In short, it is right to conclude that development is bound to change established values greatly today. However, we cannot ignore the fact that human life per se has become much better. At least people have developed such a culture of change and development.

In the eighteen to twenty year age bracket the percentage was as high as 70%. A large contributing factor to this high level of addiction is attributed to the uncensored TV advertising of cigarettes. For this reason all cigarette advertising should be banned.
Discuss.

In the following two periods, it stood slightly above 15% and below 10% respectively, a decline more than three times.
In short, bus had been very popular in all three periods whereas car’s polarity kept on increasing. But walking and biking turned unpopular over time.

Speak about a skill you wished to learn

• When you wanted to learn
• Why you failed to learn it
Well, we all need to horn some skills in our life.
Some are able to master all the skills they wish to learn.
Some others fail in some.
The same, way I too wished to learn a skill.
It was driving.
And I wanted to learn it while I was doing my higher education.
And I had even made arrangements with a driving school.
And as per the arrangement, I was supposed to undergo road training for 30 days, and my master wanted me to be ready in the early morning, at 6.00 every day.
Unfortunately, that was not the right time for me, and the school was not able to give me a suitable time either.
Somehow I attended a few days’ classes.
And after a few days, I turned irregular, and it went on for a long time, and finally, I was forced to quit that effort midway through.
And now, at times, I feel that I had made a big mistake.
Now we have a car, and my brother and father drive it. But sadly enough, my liking for driving is still there, it gets intense whenever I see them drive.
Sadly enough, now I find it more difficult to go for driving class than it was before when I went attending, and later abandoned. 2 mnts.

Ecological benefit is taken by ecologists as a viable option to maintain green cover. But there is an argument that this will halt growth as the benefits offered may not be at par with the production, if the land is used differently.

Speedy carbon recycling is the need of the hour, and ecologists find ecological benefit as a feasible option. But the concern that it would slow down growth is not unfounded. I feel that ecological benefit is to be promoted by all means.
It is the talk of the world that our Planet needs to be protected from the perils of carbon. Since green cover is the only solution, ecologists are of the view that the existing green cover is not enough to meet the challenges. Naturally, there is need for individual participation. This, in turn, needs government support. If governments can meet the expectations of people, who have their own green cover, people would keep it for the well being of the world. So offering decent ecological benefits to individuals would go a long way in making the world a healthier place to be in.
However, mere green cover maintenance wouldn’t meet the needs of the world population. The concern that it would slowdown growth needs to be address by alternatives. Today, humans are much better placed with efficient technologies to be applied in agriculture to augment production, and there are research and development options to meet the rising needs of man and, finally, humans themselves can control population. This will keep his needs controlled, and the Planet may be at ease to keep the population supplied with enough resources.
Looking at both the views, it is right to conclude that future of the Planet lies in the hands of every individual, and uniform participation of individuals alone would make a difference in carbon management. No wonder, ecological benefit sounds great.

Vote share of CPI, CPI-M and INC
The line graph presents data on the share of votes three major political parties, CPI, CPI-M and INC, had in the elections held between 1977 and 2004.
In 1977, CPI had 10.38 votes, but it came down to 6.52 in the following election. It came still down to 6.21 in 1989. In the following elections till 2004 the party’s share of votes stood between 8.12 and 7.89.
If we compare these figures with that of CPI-M, it had nearly two times more votes in 1977, 20.33, but in the following year, it recorded a low, taking it to 19.09. The following elections recorded a higher percentage, elevating it to 22.27 and 22.28 in 1984 and 1989. In the following three elections, the percentages hovered between 20.72 and 21.00. It recorded a huge increase in 1999 and 2004, taking it to 31.51.
When it comes to INC, it had 29.13% votes in 1977. In the following election, it suffered nearly 3% drop. Two elections followed recorded its all time high percentage, 41.71. In the elections of 1991,1996 1998 and 1999, its percentage remained between 38.78 and 39.35. But in 2004 it had a steep fall, from 39.35 to 32.11, the biggest fall ever.
It is obvious that CPI did not have any major increase or decrease over the years, but the other two had remarkable variations in their respective shares.

Since being connected to the rest of the world is much more important today than it was before, many people feel that school children should be permitted to keep mobile phones while they are at school.
Argue for and against this statement.
There is heated discussion on whether children be allowed to carry mobiles when they are at school or not. If we look at this argument from an objective angle, we may be able to find several positive and negative aspects to the same.
Arguing for it, even a cursory look may reveal that sporting a mobile is a good idea because, today, children, the most vulnerable section, need to stay connected with the rest of the world, especially with their near and dear ones. A deeper analysis would again prove that being connected offers children many advantages by way of security, navigating while traveling, gathering information, and being networking. Since we are living in a world of revolutionary changes in the field of communication, it will be unfair of us, if we keep our children aloof.
On the other hand, this idea entails some serious practical difficulties. First of all, mobiles offer children many temptations to get influenced, mostly negatively. Children being credulous and vulnerable, mobiles may take children to wrong ways and the consequence may me very serious. Secondly, classrooms and school atmosphere are meant primarily for learning, and the need for being connected can be set aside. Finally, mobile phones cause some health risks and children, being exposed to the lures of mobiles, may overuse the same. So it is better students stay off their mobiles for a while.
In short, ‘mobile phones at school’ is a controversial issue worth debating. However, if children are disciplined enough to manage it for their good, it is fine. If it is the other way round, we better not allow them to be connected, for school hours, at least.

Secondly, classrooms and school atmosphere are meant primarily for learning, and the need for being connected can be set aside. Finally, mobile phones cause some health risks and children, being exposed to the lures of mobiles, may overuse the same. So it is better students stay off their mobiles for a while.
In short, ‘mobile phones at school’ is a controversial issue worth debating. However, if children are disciplined enough to manage it for their good, it is fine. If it is the other way round, we better not allow them to be connected, for school hours, at least.

There are points to establish the fact that it is a good idea to give the reins of the nation to the hands of young leaders. Thirdly, younger leaders are less prone to corruption and similar asocial activities than the old ones whose aim is to be in the seats of power somehow.
On the other hand, if a nation continues to be run by sexagenarian and octogenarian, there is going to be slow and passive functioning and poor participation. As they are too old, an emerging nation may not be able to cope with their conventional style of functioning. Besides these, a good number of old leaders are reported to be corrupt and they hardly understand the need for change. They want to be power dealers, not leaders. This situation can easily be averted if youngsters take up the reins of power.
The above arguments make it clear that, in the present scenario, it is wise idea to let the emerging young leaders take the nation forward, and of course we can make use of the elder leaders’ expertise for many other nation building exercises.

Well, I like jewelry, and like any one else,
I have my own favourite jewelry, too.
It is a bangle-cum wristwatch.
Actually it is a gift.
And it was presented to me by my father
On my graduation day.
As I said earlier it is a two in one piece.
It primarily looks like a bangle,
But on closer look one can see a small case
which is oval in shape, and that case carries
a cute sparkling dial in it.
It looks like a human eye, and the inside of which is extremely beautiful with its time indicators, sparkling as they are of stone.
Something interesting about this particular watch is that it makes a beep every hour.
And my reasons for liking are many.
Firstly, it is a present from my father.
Secondly, it reminds me of my graduation day.
And thirdly, it is really precious cost-wise and other wise. Well, what what else is there about it?

Swimming pool? Well, these days it is hard to find swimming pools in our place. It is now mostly found in hotels and tourist or holiday destinations.
However, I happened to enjoy the convenience of a swimming pool some time back. It is part of famous water theme park in our state.
And I visited this place as part of a tour programme.
It happened last year, and we, a group of friends visited this theme park called Vega land. It s some 75 kms off our place, and we were traveling by a mini bus.
Since, it is a water theme park there are many water related activities and adventures. One of such experiences is the swimming experience we had at that location.
Actually, it is big pool with the sparkling water and clean and secure surroundings.
What I like most is its conveniences like security arrangements,
like floats and airbags meant for children, and those who are not good at swimming.
There are seating arrangements, and they provide some umbrellas and sun beds for those who need them for relaxation after a swim.
Apart from all there, there is separate section with support facilities for males and females, like change room, rest room and make up rooms.
And finally, I need to add that water in this swimming pool is periodically purified. It is done at regular intervals and it is an automatic process. So we can be sure of cleanliness and be on guard against water-borne diseases.
That is all about the swimming pool I like most.

Recently, I happened to visit an art exhibition
Hosted by a group of local artists in my place.
There were a lot of paintings, drawings, applied art forms and so on
Among them I got hooked to an artwork done by one Mr. Warrior
I do not know much of his whereabouts.
What I liked most is the way he presents his thought
Actually it was a modern art form in which he was trying to
Highlight some social issues like child abuse, female feuticide
Aggression against women and children.
It was oil on canvass, and the work was so attractive in the sense that
Ordinary folk themselves could understand the message
It was an blend of thought, creativity and imagination
And the colour combination he used looked really interesting
That he was selecting hard colours and strong strokes to represent
Ideas that are really hard pressing and that need immediate attention
In the bottom of the canvas, there was a message
Running into only four words.
“The real is not”
what I understood is this,
things we see around us
are not actual, and we do not see now much of
what is happening around.
Frankly, speaking this artwork made me think
I knew that there are so many evils working around us.
