Tourism is a platform on which distance and diversity work as instruments that promotes unity and understanding among people - irrespective of their being what they are and where they are from.

Tourism has always been a strong force that has promoted cooperation and understanding among the populace for ages. What ever is the tourism a place promotes, the force behind it has always been distance and diversity. This is what is going on today too. That is what I feel.

Distance and diversity has always fascinated man. It is human’s inherent interest in experiencing the unknown and distant that has made tourism an every green attraction. In this context, it is relevant to note that man and his surroundings have always forced him to go beyond whatever is his, and pursue the differences and diversity off and on. Over the years, this tendency has increased thanks to the developments in all realms of tourism. Now it is huge force to reckon with.

This force in no way second to any force that is able to foster relations, strengthen economies and derive understanding between nations. When people interact by way of tourism, there are possibilities for knowing each other and sharing their similar interests, and comparing the contrasting their dissimilar ones. This leads to understanding and unity across world. For example, it is tourism that makes people understand that human life is a unified whole, and interdependence, innate diversities and their being distant are the things that make life more worth living.

In short, tourism is a common venue for all people from across the world to showcase, share and benefit each other from one another’s. Needless to say, this exercise is facilitated by distance and diversity. I think this is going to stay.
