Free movement of market, men and material across the world is taken as an opportunity by some people, but some others are of the opinion that it has made the world suffer from countless problems.
How genuine are these views in your opinion?
Borderless movement is the order of the day, and the same is going to stay, too. Naturally, there are differing views on its merits and demerits. What I feel is that is more an opportunity than a problem. I can prove it too.
Let me explain what all opportunities such a movement offers people. Firstly, it is market interplay. Nations both rich are poor interact and benefit each other by way employment, tax and market penetration. Secondly, it is the movement of human resource. Human resource is a perishable one, but today, there are opportunities across the world to make use of ones potentials for the welfare of the whole world. Being able to use one’s intellectual and physical strengths is much better than not using or under-using them. Thirdly, a free world order makes developments faster, so does the socio-economic conditions of the world.
However, all is not well with this all encompassing world order. There is rich poor divide getting widened thanks to movement of resources to more productive lands. Secondly, poor nations become unattractive even to its population due to the attractions offered by the world outside. Thirdly, there are cultural and traditional values that get deteriorated, and some of them even get extinct too. However, the fact remains that these are effects of changes and influences.
To conclude it, since this changed order of the day is bound to be here for long, and there is no scope for any U turn, it is a good idea to identify the possibilities of it, and try our best to manage the difficulties. So, both the views hold some water.
