How far do you agree or disagree with this?
Quality of education is very crucial in today’s fast changing employment environment. It is controlled more by private sector than by government sector. When it comes to private sector jobs, employability matters much more than the name or popularity of the institution a person gets educated from. 50 words
Education is becoming more expensive these days and students are highly ambitious to find lucrative jobs mostly under private sector. Government is no longer an employment provider for all the people who get qualified every year. When it comes to private sector jobs, it is the skill-sets and individual faculties that decide a candidate’s employability. In short, employers want to get their jobs done. A huge syllabus, efficient faculty and infrastructure may be there in all institutions. But they are contributory factors that decide on the employability or the industry-friendliness of the candidates. 90 words
On the contrary, employability cannot be achieved without the support of efficient faculty, competitive syllabus and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Coupled with these is the need for including provisions for students for gaining hand on experience in their respective professions. In some societies manufacturing of tobacco and alcoholic products is legal, but consumption of the same is illegal. So it is right to say that making consumption of these products illegal is impractical.
Do you agree or disagree with this?
It is a fact that, in almost all societies, tobacco and alcoholic products are legally produced and promoted though they are the worst health hazards. This is so because; these products constitute a huge industry involving great stakes for the society and state. So long as they are kept legal, banning their usage is almost impractical. 50 words
The factors that make it impractical are many. Primarily, is it the easy availability and their being cheap. For example; tobacco and alcoholic products are sold everywhere and they are even accessible to minors, too. Secondly, the consumption of these products is widely promoted both by the media and by the government as it is a huge source of revenue. Thirdly, alcoholism and tobacco consumption are widely eulogized as signs of heroism and the younger generation is widely being attracted to these hazards. So simply banning these evils may not make any difference in its prevalence in the society. 95 words.
On the other hand, we cannot ignore the fact that the welfare of the society is a matter of great concern, and governments have the duty to protect the general interests of the society. And as the younger generation is being targeted by these industrialized hazards, it is mandatory that there are some rules and regulations against these products. Argue for and against ‘following a uniform syllabus’ in schools. IELTS essay skeleton
There is an argument that, since every child is unique with different talents and interests, making all children follow a uniform courseware in school is to be discouraged.·
Argue for and against this.
Giving right education to the young is a complex affair. When it comes to individual talents and tastes, this becomes more complex. So it is natural that there are differing views about the feasibility of following a uniform syllabus for all students. 40 words.
Looking at the statement positively, it is important to know that school children go through their formative years, and the need for identifying their latent skills and talents is of great importance. A uniform syllabus may not be helpful for this. For example, a student who is highly skilled extracurricular interests may find his classes boring. So it is important to catch them young. Their talents, skills and personal interests need to be identified in time. And the school classes need to be framed in such a way as to make every student perform well in his or her area of interest. So following a uniform syllabus may be discouraged. 110 words
On the other hand, if we view it from a different angle, it may reveal that school life has much more to offer a student than what s/he has in him as skills and talents. Every student has to have some basics to be successful in his future studies: for example, basic language and numerical ability, life and soft skills, to mention a few. A balanced syllabus can foster these skills. Furthermore, identifying and fostering inherit talents during school life is a great responsibility involving huge infrastructure. Competing is quite human, and it can be seen in every stage of human life. Today, people are living in a world of competition, and they try to survive and make themselves fit into the new competitive world order through outstanding performances. Competition has many advantages that are beneficial to us, but it has some drawbacks too if it is handled recklessly. 60 words
Obviously, there are many positive impacts for competing with others. Firstly, it enables individuals to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, it encourages them to do hard work and perform better. Secondly, one can understand the reality of life by facing both the ups and downs. Consequently, he or she can successfully face the adversities of life. There are many living examples for this: like Barak Obama, the US present, V.R. Krishnamoorthy of Infosis, Maradona, the sports legend, to mention a few. And it is interesting to be competing as well. 90 words
When it is viewed from the other side, competition has some drawbacks. That is, unhealthy competition promotes selfishness among people. That will ultimately lead to the deterioration of one’s personality. Moreover, many people resort to unethical practices to defeat others. Bribing judges and influencing them in someone’s favour and sports persons going for doping to enhance performance etc. are common. In fact, both success and failure impose a kind of pressure on the participants. It will adversely affect the behaviours if one cannot take it as a challenge. 85 words

The lack of individual initiative and employment friendly education are the major reasons for unemployment in developing nations.How far is this true in your opinion?
Unemployment in poor nations is a grave issue. Although developing countries are considered as the richest sources of manpower, they lack good quality education to cope with the competitive world. Therefore, young aspirants fail to utilize the emerging opportunities. It is mainly due to the poor individual initiatives and substandard education. 50 words
It is true to a great extent that individuals’ personal preferences seriously affect the success rate in getting a job. Most of the people want white color jobs, and they do not take risks or challenges as they are being shaped in that way from their childhood onwards. Moreover, the today's private sector employers want confident candidates with outstanding performance not only in their certificates but also in their soft skills like communication, problem solving ability, time management and multi-tasking, to mentino a few. Naturally, poorly skilled ones lose the opportunity and their confidence level begins to fall. what is follows is rising unemployment rates. 90 words.
Similarly poor educational standards also lead to unemployment to a great extent. That is, there is wide disparity seen between the rich and poor and the rich can afford the high cost of education whereas the poor get only substandard education from poor institutions. The same thing happens in the case of urban and rural people. The urban people get more exposure than poor ones. Therefore, the former out-perform the latter in competitive exams and interviews. The ultimate result is unemployment. 80 words

An expensive product you wish to buy
Two minutes’ cue card exercise:
Well, frankly speaking, I wish to buy a lot many expensive things.
Among them, my immediate priority is to but a laptop.
I know it involves a lot of money. Still I have a plan to buy one.
Actually my plan is to buy it buy the end of this year.
I think, I will be able to generate some money all by myself.
I am working now, and within six months I can buy it, I feel so.
When it comes to brands, I am a little confused.
Because there are a series of brands available in the market.
I have already had some discussions with some of my friends
They say, Apple is a popular brand.
Yes, this laptop is going to help me in many ways.
Firstly, I can take my office with me wherever I go.
Secondly, I can stay in touch with the rest of the world always.
And finally, I can store great amount of data in it.
Above all, as a professional, I can make use of this machine in many ways.
Since information is very important in today’s professions,
I can log on to the net at anytime and get the right data for my daily use.
There is another factor too, that is holding a laptop is a sign of status too
So hopefully, I will be able to buy one very shortly.
That is all about the expensive product I wish to buy.
