Globalization has paved the way for rapid industrialization. Many countries give undue importance to industries in order to compete with others, thereby increasing the demand for energy. As energy crisis is severe, it is better to observe industrial holidays for some time or adopt several other alternative measures to offset power demand supply equilibrium. 50 words
Industrial holiday, as the term indicates, is a measure to decrease the consumption of power by giving frequent holidays to select industries. Consequently, the available energy can be preserved and distributed to other power hungry sectors. For example, the power used by manufacturers of luxury goods like car can be channeled to some agricultural sectors, if they are restricted so run the factory for a certain period of time. When it comes to solving this issue, every individual must realize the value of power they use and so should the industries. Secondly, the laxity in preventing transmission loss and power theft needs to be addressed seriously. Governments have to resolve thee problems on a war foot level. In addition to theses, luxury taxes can also work to reduce energy consumption. Finally, tapping of alternative energy sources like, wind, solar and tidal energy could be tapped, and nuclear option could also be considered.
