Right information on healthcare will make great differences in people’s attitude towards health and well-being, but limitless access to medical information will do more harm than good.
Essay 001
Discuss both the views.

Getting rightly informed is of course good. But getting excessive information is not only bad, but it is dangerous also. When right knowledge on healthcare helps people achieve better life and well-being, excessive access makes it highly dangerous.

Getting informed is entirely different from getting rightly informed. When it comes to awareness on healthcare, this is extremely important because, medical know-how can make people lead healthy lives. For example, people will develop a tendency to be on guard against infectious diseases; they may make periodic check ups mandatory; they may follow healthy lifestyle practices; and some may even make it a point that they live a life in tune with what their knowledge on their health dictates. In short, appropriate knowledge on healthcare will change the very way people look at their health and well being.

On the contrary, if medical information is dispensed without any limit, there is danger. For example, people who have got huge stock of knowledge on medicines, diseases and treatments may go for self medication; some may try over medication and some others may even go for poor medication out of fear. Apart from all these, wrongly informed people have a tendency to do doctor hopping and demand for diagnostic procedures, thinking that they are suffering from severe medical conditions. Needless to say, all these practices are dangerous in a healthcare perspective.

To be precise, being aware is a blessing, but being too much aware is a bane. However, since we cannot stay away from this knowledge flooding, we all need to be intelligent enough to identify what information is needed, and what is not, especially with medical knowledge.
