Making Cups
Cups have been used for centuries by people all over the world. Everybody knows what they are for but few people know how to make them. I will now show you the steps involved in making cups.
First, dry clay powder is placed in a container and water is added. The water and powder are mixed together, the excess water is removed, and the mixture is shaped into flat shapes.
Next, the shapes are pressed into cup moulds, and handles are added. Then the moulds are put in a kiln where they are dried. After drying, the rough edges are smoothed off before the cups are baked in a kiln. It is important to make sure that the kiln is at the correct temperature. Finally, the cups are decorated. Before being sent to shops the cups have to be checked and imperfect ones rejected. The good cups are packed and sent to retail outlets.
We use cups everyday, but how many of us know the steps involved in making such a necessary product!
