Performance of employment exchanges: All India and Gujarat

The bar chart compares the performance of employment exchanges all over India with Gujarat for a period of seven years starting from 2002.

In 2002 and 2003, the national figures stood above 150000 whereas the corresponding figures of Gujarat were 70700 and 64900. In the following year, the national figure came much below 150000 mark, but Gujarat maintained its figure in tact. When the national figure went above 175000 in 2005, Gujarat also had a market improvement in its performance. It went up to 92900 from 64,900; nearly an increase by 50%.

In 2006, this figure went still further touching 990000 mark whereas the national figure did not show much improvement. It came a little closer to 200000 mark. On the other hand, Gujarat recorded almost two times increase it its number of placements in the year 2007. It shot up to 191000 from 99000. And, finally in 2008, it went still further touching 225000 point which is much higher than three times the number recorded in the year 2002.

It is clear that employment exchanges in Gujarat had much greater performance record than all the exchanges in India put together.
